The construction on the Miskito Training Center in Vetania began in mid-February. The trip had been planned for several months and everything was supposed to be ready for the project. Travel along the river took more time than anticipated so we arrived half a day later than planned. To our amazement we discovered the lumber had not been cut. We were a bit discouraged, but we reorganized our efforts and with a lot of determination cut, hauled, and framed a large portion of the project in just two days.
Rusty Durand and Charlie Gill, from Montpelier, Louisiana, along with Denise and myself, Raul, Brother Ronaldo, from Wiwili, and five other regional pastors and leaders were able to accomplish an extreme amount of work under the conditions. As they cut and hand carried posts and lumber for over two miles along muddy trails we framed the 30'x40' building and finally set the ridge on the last afternoon. As we were leaving Brother Ronaldo was making plans to return in a few weeks to install the rafters and roof.
Please continue to pray with us as this building is completed and utilized to train future leaders along the Coco River.
