His Grace Still Amazes Me! - Fran Griffith

My late husband, Gary, served as a worship and student pastor for most of the 22 years of our marriage. He sang and led songs in every genre of church music that you can imagine--from southern gospel and traditional hymns to the contemporary praise and worship songs of today. He loved them all because they told the story of the wonderful Savior that he devoted his life to serve.

There is no telling how many times he sang the songs Amazing GraceVictory in Jesus, and I Love to Tell the Story, but the one song that he sang in a trio, that I believe was his very favorite, and my favorite to hear him sing, was a song made famous by the group Philips, Craig & Dean called Your Grace Still Amazes Me. If you are not familiar with the song here are some of the lyrics:

My faithful Father, enduring Friend

Your tender mercy is like a river with no end

It overwhelms me, covers my sin

Each time I come into Your presence I stand in wonder again

Your grace still amazes me

Your love is still a mystery

Each day I fall on my knees

'Cause Your grace still amazes me

Your grace still amazes me

This beautiful song reminds me of the incredible grace of Christ and the mission he has prepared for each of us as Paul writes in Ephesians 2:8-10, "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not of your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."

We have a wonderful story to share and a world of unreached people that desperately need to hear that message. Titus 2:11 tells us that "the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people." At XMA our mission is to help those who have experienced this redeeming love go and tell others how they can receive that redemption as well. Please contact me at fgriffith@xmaonline.com and let me help you find the best opportunity to go and tell the old, old story of Jesus and his love.
